Meet the First Black Woman ever to be Crowned Miss London

A Zimbawean born Vimbai Chapungu has become the first black woman to be crowned Miss London.

Vimbai Chapungu who recently turned 24,took part in the Miss England Final held in Newcastle and she qualified as one of the 50 finalists out of other 20,000 women that entered this year’s competition.

The winner was announced to be Bhasha Mukherjee, a 23-year-old junior doctor who will now go on to compete at Miss World  held in London on Dec. 14, 2019.

 Vimbai wore her natural hair during the Miss England finale to highlight the beauty of African hair.  she is currently her Masters thesis on the Natural Hair Movement.
