Two drivers allegedly steal N1m rods from Dangote refinery in Lagos



Dangote Oil Refining Company Limited allegedly employed two drivers who later stole rods worth N1 million from the company.
The two truck drivers, 20 year old Ibrahim Madaki, and Mohammed Nuru, 25 were arraigned last Friday on a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos upon their arrest by the Nigerian Police.

According to the Nation, the Prosecutor, Insp. Ajaga Agboko, said they committed the offences on August 7, at the company’s premises at Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
Insp. Agboko alleged that the drivers allegedly stole 410 pieces of iron rods, property of Dangote Refinery.
He said they were caught by two security guards after they had loaded the rods in a truck and were about to drive out in the middle of night.
They however pleaded not guilty to the charge and they have been granted bill with the sum of N200,000 and 2 sureties with like sum.
