19-year-old remanded in prison for stealing N550,000 from a shop

A 19-year-old unemployed man Clement Victor has been remanded in prison custody by an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N550, 000 and some other items from a shop.

Magistrate O.M. Dawodu remanded Victor after he pleaded guilty to a three-count-charge of conspiracy, stealing and breach of the peace.
The defendant would remain in prison pending presentation of ‘facts and sentencing’ before the court on October 17.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Mary Ajiteru, yesterday told the court that the defendant committed the offences with some other persons still at large at No. 29, Lagos Road, Ikorodu, on  June 23.
According to her, the defendant allegedly stole some goods inside a shop belonging to the complainant, one Mr Epete Stephen.
He said that the defendant also stole the N550, 000 cash from same shop.
Magistrate Dawodu adjourned the matter till October 17.
