Commercial bus driver hit and killed 6 year old in Ondo

A commercial bus driver allegedly knocked and killed a 6 year old boy who was returning from school in Ikaram-Okoko Northwest local government area, Ondo.

According to a source, the six-year-old pupil of a muslim primary school in the town known as Sunday Promise died instantly while the driver of the bus drove off with the intention to escape.

However, with the efforts of residents, the hit and run driver was apprehended at Agbaluku-Arigidi Akoko, a distance of about 15km from Ikaram, scene of the accident, The Nation reports. 

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Okeagbe-Akoko, Johnson Akintola confirmed the incident, adding that the driver of the bus was with them and that investigation had commenced on the matter.
