Pregnant mum loses baby after mugger batters her in horrifying street attack

The 25-year-old miscarried her baby the day after she was mugged outside a train station in the town of Hessle, Hull.

According to reports from Mirror UK, robber punched, kicked and threw 25-year-old Lauren Reece Flay to the ground while she was on her way to work.
The robber allegedly set upon her in the town of Hessle, in Hull, moments after she left its train station on the night of Friday, September 13.
She was "ragged" around by her attacker before he made off with her phone and a small amount of cash, reports Hull Live .
But Lauren, of north Hull, soon received the most devastating news from doctors when they told her she had miscarried the day after the robbery - and just days after finding out she was pregnant.
She said: “I was only literally early on pregnant. We only found out within that week.
“When the ambulance first came I didn’t have any stomach pain. I just wanted to go home to my son and be in my own kind of place.
“But then on the Saturday I started to have a few pains. When they told me I kind of knew straight away.
“I was shocked but expected it.
“It is s**t to be honest. I was excited about it. I told my sister and my friends that it was something I was really looking forward to.”
The man who carried out the robbery was described as white, in his 20s, of slim build, wearing a black Northface jacket, grey joggers and a black baseball cap.
Lauren, who has an 11-month-old son, says she saw her attacker before she stepped onto the Hull to Sheffield bound train at Hull Paragon.
She said: “I always get the 8.48pm train and on this evening there was a man in his early twenties acting strange but I didn’t think too much into it.
“I just thought it’s a Friday night and he might be on something and I didn’t take too much interest.
“When the train was going he was walking up and down the aisle and that was when I was starting to feel a little worried.
“He then sat at my table and kept staring at me. He answered his phone and was talking to a mate and it sounded like he was going to Sheffield.
“As the train was stopping at Hessle I was at the door and he then got up to get off which I thought was strange as I thought he was getting off at Sheffield.
“He then tried to get off the train on the other side where the tracks were, so I told him ‘you've got to get off this side, you don’t want to end up dead’.”
As Lauren stepped off the train she began to “dawdle” her way to work, hoping that the strange man would bypass her on the bridge at the station – but he didn’t.
Lauren kept walking along Southfield when she was then punched and grabbed by her alleged attacker and “ragged” around.
“He even kicked me in the legs”.
Lauren suffered two fractured ribs on her left side and bruising to her chest.
She had no phone so made her way to work for help before she was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary.
The next day, she was told she had suffered a miscarriage.
Another man is said to have walked ahead of Lauren and her attacker as they got off the train who she thinks might be able to help.
She said: “There was another male who was in front of us but he was walking at normal pace.
“The way the man ran after the attack was in the same direction as that other man so I thought maybe he passed him.”
Lauren returned to work for the first time yesterday following the attack, saying she was “nervous” about getting back on the train.
She has struggled to leave her home since it happened saying that the incident has left her 'shaken'.
Lauren said she had struggled to leave the house since it happened: “It is not like he was a big stocky guy so it has got me paranoid to a point where I’m thinking what if he was bigger or had a knife - it has got me shaking.
Humberside Police issued an appeal yesterday urging anyone who saw what happened or can help with their enquiries to get in touch with them by calling their non-emergency number 101 quoting log 593 13/09/19.
