The gay Rugby legend, Gareth Thomas has said that speaking publicly about being HIV positive has lifted a "massive weight off" him and his husband Stephen Thomas.
The 45-year-old applauded his husband for being a "beacon of light" in "dark times", and said that the obstacles they have overcome together has made them "unbreakable".
His husband Stephen was full of praise too, saying he thought Gareth's openness about the condition will "save people's lives".
He revealed it was "heartbreaking" seeing Gareth being threatened as news of his HIV status broke.
Speaking to OK! , Gareth said: "Stephen was the only reason I got through the dark times."
Gareth was blackmailed by journalists into making the news public.
Speaking about this time, Stephen said: "Seeing Gareth at his darkest points, when people were threatening him, was heartbreaking.
