Similar incident had initially claimed the life of another corps member, Precious Owolabi, while reporting the event for Channels TV as his primary assignment.
According to Twitter handle @officialnyscng, the Director-General, Brigadier General shuaibu Ibrahim while receiving Suleiman in his office was thankful to God for sparing his life.
Recounting his ordeal, Aliyu said, ‘We heard gunshots close to us, while our driver was about to turn, I couldn’t feel my arm, it was then I realised that I was hit by a bullet and I immediately notified my CDS officer, who called the attention of the NYSC FCT Management on the incident’.
The corps member has since been redeployed to his home state for proper medical care and monitoring
